Mickleover fell to a seventh straight defeat with a 3-1 loss at home to Workington.
The Sports found themselves 1-0 down early on when Steven Rigg converted a penalty for the visitors within the opening ten minutes, but Gareth Holmes' side responded in the second half with Tyreace Palmer marking his debut with a goal just past the hour mark.
However, Mickleover were unable to hold on with a Jake Allan header and another Rigg penalty in injury time securing just a second win in 14 away games for Workington.
Kick-Off
The first chance of the game fell the way of Mickleover with a Toby Smith attempt from 20 yards having to be tipped over by Alex Mitchell.
Workington hit back and a minute later they took the lead.
A Sam Hetherington cross found Rigg who was tripped by Daniel Benson causing referee David Constable to point to the spot.
Rigg stepped up and sent Yusuf Mersin the wrong way from 12 yards for his 13th goal of the campaign - this was also the sixth time in their last seven home matches in which Mickleover have conceded first.
Things almost got worse for the Sports shortly after but Mersin was alert to prevent the visitors from doubling their lead.
Josh Galloway pinged in a deep cross to Kai Nugent at the back post who took the ball down nicely, but saw his shot from a narrow angle blocked by Mersin.
Following this the game became quite flat with the poor weather conditions dictating play and it wasn't until the 37th minute when the next chance came.
Smith delivered a cross to the near post which was slid wide by Stuart Beavon, and a minute later the 40-year-old sent another chance begging when he headed a Brandon Ferron cross off target.
Mickleover were fortunate not to go into the break 2-0 down, with the woodwork denying Workington of a second goal.
A long ball forward was flicked on by Rigg to Hetherington who lobbed Mersin from just inside the area, but saw his attempt come off the underside of the crossbar
Half Time: Mickleover 0-1 Workington
The home side came out to the second half on the front foot and had a couple of early chances to draw level.
Firstly, Andy Dales was played through on goal by Smith but the former Scunthorpe United winger's chip was crucially saved by Mitchell.
Two minutes later Mickleover were only denied of an equaliser by the woodwork.
Ferron dragged a cross back to Jamie Soule whose shot on the turn hit the post.
However the Sports were finally able to break Workington's resistance just past the hour mark.
Dales slid through a pass to Palmer whose shot from the right hand side of the penalty area nestled into the far corner for a goal on his debut just three minutes after coming on as a substitute.
Mickleover kept the pressure up and five minutes later Will Atkinson sent a half volley over from the edge of the box after a Dales cross had been cleared into his path.
The hosts looked the more likely side to score a second but then with 13 minutes remaining Workington retook the lead.
A Galloway corner to the near post was headed in from six yards out by Carlisle loanee Allan for his first goal for the Reds.
In injury time, Mark Fell's men secured the three points with another penalty.
Lucas Wane did well to turn away from two Mickleover defenders in the box but was then barged over from behind by Jake Bennett leading Constable to point to the spot for the second time.
Once again Rigg took for the away side and he blasted his penalty straight down the middle to make it 3-1.
