Dorking Wanderers 1
Dagenham & Redbridge 3
The visitors twice profited on poor Dorking attempts to play out from the back in the opening period with a Dan Gallagher own goal and an Inih Effiong strike, either side of a ferocious Harry Ottaway finish for Wanderers, would give the Daggers a half-time lead.
Late in the second half Ben Strevens' side would seal the three points thanks to a Josh Hare header.
Kick-Off
It didn't take long for the deadlock to be broken at Meadowbank, with Dorking gifting Dagenham the lead after just four minutes.
A weak pass from goalkeeper Harrison Male to George Francomb was intercepted by Freddie Sears who burst into the box and saw his by-line cross converted into his own goal by Dorking midfielder Gallagher.
Within four minutes of this Dagenham were unlucky not to double their lead with the visitors failing to take advantage of yet more sloppy defensive play from the hosts.
Home defender Jay Cook played the ball straight to Frank Vincent who teed up Sears and the former West Ham United forward's dinked effort had to be tipped over by Male; and from the resulting corner the 23-year-old goalkeeper had to claw away a side footed shot from Sears.
Despite starting on the back foot, Dorking were able to level the scores just prior to the 15 minute mark.
Jimmy Muitt poked the ball across to Ottaway just inside the Daggers penalty area, and his strike crashed off the underside of the crossbar and in. This being his second goal of the campaign.
However, just past the half hour mark Dagenham would retake the lead thanks to yet more careless play in their defensive third by Dorking.
Niall McManus played the ball straight into the feet of Effiong and the visiting forward was able to slot past Male for his third goal in four games.
This was enough to see Dagenham go in at the break 2-1 up however they could have been further in front with Sears going close in stoppage time.
A lofted ball over the top released the 33-year-old, and whilst Dorking offside appeals fell on deaf ears, he was able to unleash a shot that had to be beaten behind by Male at his near post.
Half Time: Dorking Wanderers 1-2 Dagenham & Redbridge
The second period began bizarrely with Dorking coming out to the half with a changed strip.
In the first half they had worn red and white striped shirts yet they came out to the second in their orange away shirt.
This change in colour looked to have an effect with Wanderers having numerous chances after the interval.
Firstly, a deep Callum Kennedy cross picked out Gallagher at the back post who chested down and saw his volley across goal go agonisingly wide.
14 minutes later Marc White's outfit again threatened with Elliot Justham having to get down well to parry away an Ottaway attempt.
Three minutes after this Male then had to make an identical save at the other end to keep Vincent at bay.
Despite their better start Dorking would concede a third with just over ten minutes left to play with Hare heading home for the Daggers.
Substitute Myles Weston was able to hook a deep cross to the far post where the former Bristol Rovers full back was on hand to nod home from close range.
This goal secured the three points for Dagenham and subjected Dorking to a fifth loss in six games in all competitions.
