This weekend sees a struggling Brightlingsea Regent side entertain Lewes in the Isthmian Premier Division.

Both clubs come into this fixture in contrasting form. The R’s are ten games without a win in all competitions and haven't won a league game on home turf since August. On the other hand, the Rooks are five games unbeaten in all competitions.

Despite their rich recent run of results Lewes are yet to win back-to-back away victories this term, something they can change at North Road following a 4-2 win at Enfield Town in mid-October.

On paper Lewes should pick up a second consecutive three points on their travels with Regent being much inferior opposition. Brett Munyard’s men currently sit one place above rock bottom Corinthian Casuals and both the attack, and the defence has been lacking for the R’s this term. Brightlingsea have scored the least and conceded the greatest number of goals in the Isthmian Premier Division so far this season.

In their last three fixtures the R’s have conceded 14 goals scoring just one in response following 5-0, 6-0 and 3-1 defeats at the hands of Wingate & Finchley, Aveley and Bowers & Pitsea respectively.

Recent records lean slightly in the visitor’s favour with the Rooks two games unbeaten against the R’s.

Key Players

Francis Jno-Baptiste

A recent arrival at North Road, Francis Jno-Baptiste joined the R’s from Chesham United at the end of October and so far has one goal in red and black.

The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Crystal Palace before spending some time playing in Sweden.

Jno-Baptiste scored in Regent’s 3-1 loss against Bowers & Pitsea in midweek.

Joe Taylor

Lewes’ top scorer so far this term, Joe Taylor has started this season like a house of fire bagging 12 goals in 15 games for the Rooks.

Last season saw Taylor net 33 times for Lewes and the 31-year-old has started this campaign in an equally impressive manner.

Previously in his career Taylor has also represented the likes of: Margate, Farnborough and Ebbsfleet United.
