This Saturday sees a huge game at the bottom of the Isthmian Division One North as managerless Maldon & Tiptree entertain a Great Wakering side that are still looking for their first away win of the season.
The Jammers have had a disastrous start to the season, losing every league game and are also currently without a manager following the departure of Paul Abrahams following a defeat against Hashtag United earlier in the month.
A victory for the Jammers could see them move off bottom spot and up three places to 17th provided that Coggeshall Town and Wroxham both lose and Gorleston fail to win.
Great Wakering have also had a frustrating start to the season with just one win to their name and four straight defeats in all competitions.
Key Players
Maldon & Tiptree
Kamani McFarlane
Still only a teenager Kamani McFarlane has had a positive start to life at the Wallace Binder Ground.
A former Port Vale youth player McFarlane was released by the League One club this summer and snapped up by the Jammers.
So far this term the 18-year-old is Maldon’s top scorer with three goals to his name scoring in FA Cup victories over Harpenden Town and Haringey Borough.
This Saturday McFarlane will be hoping to get his first league goal of the campaign.
Great Wakering
Alex Hernandez
Another teenager, Alex Hernandez is leading the goalscoring charts for Great Wakering this season with four goals to his name.
Despite only being 19 Hernandez has experienced football at higher levels. Last season the striker had a productive loan spell with East Thurrock United which saw him score eight times for the Rocks.
Hernandez also has National League South experience with Concord Rangers, including a substitute appearance against Taunton Town earlier this season.
