This Saturday Concord Rangers return to action with a trip to Berkhamsted in what is an FA Cup second round qualifying tie.

Berkhamsted currently play step four football and compete in the Southern League Division One Central, in which they lead the table.

So far this season the Comrades have won every game on home turf in all competitions with their only defeat this season coming away from home at FC Romania.

Last season was an impressive on for Chris Devane’s men who finished second place missing out on automatic promotion by ten points. This was followed up by a 2-1 playoff semi-final defeat to Ware Town after extra time.

A win for the Comrades would see them continue their 100% home record for the campaign and also see them record three wins on the bounce.

Meanwhile Concord Rangers are in desperate need for a win. The Beach Boys haven't won since a 1-0 success over Taunton on the second game of the season.

Chris Search’s men are also five games without a win: with their four most recent results all being losses.

Berkhamsted’s top scorer so far this season, Jonathan Lacey has bagged six times for the Comrades already this term; including a brace in a 5-0 FA Trophy win over Exmouth in midweek.

Lacey started out with Leverstock Green where he was prolific scoring 66 times in 94 appearances during his time at Pancake Lane.

This earnt him his first move to Berkhamsted where he was just as prolific; netting 37 times in 64 appearances for the Comrades.

As a result of his rich vein of form Lacey was rewarded with a move to Hemel Hempstead, however his time with the Tudors wasn’t as successful; scoring nine goals 35 appearances in a spell that was hampered by the pandemic.

Last season Lacey returned to Berkhamsted scoring five goals for the Comrades, a tally he has already bettered this term.
