This Monday night sees a top of the table clash in the Isthmian Premier Division as league leaders Potters Bar travel to an Aveley side that sit one place below them.

This will be the second time the two sides have faced each other this week, following an FA Cup tie at Potters Bar last Tuesday; a game that finished 2-1 to the hosts thanks to an injury time Lewis Manor goal.

Both sides have had an identical start to the campaign with four wins and one defeat. The Millers have beaten Hastings United, Billericay Town, Wingate & Finchley and Corinthian Casuals, and their only loss this season was a 6-1 drabbing at home to Bognor Regis Town.

For Potters Bar their four victories have come over Herne Bay, Billericay, Bognor Regis and Enfield Town. A 1-0 loss at home to Bishop’s Stortford has been the only blemish in what has been an impressive start to the campaign for the Scholars.

Key Players

Aveley

Ryan Scott

Defender Ryan Scott has had a solid start to the season so far for Aveley with the 28-year-old being the Millers joint top scorer with two goals.

Scott is no stranger to goals either as the former Concord Rangers man netted seven times for Aveley last season on their way to promotion.

Scott came through the youth ranks at Barnet before making a move to Billericay in 2014.

In recent years Scott has acquired National League South experience with fellow Essex clubs: East Thurrock United, Concord and Braintree Town.

Potters Bar

Lewis Manor

The Scholars top scorer, Lewis Manor, has had a fine start to life in Hertfordshire bagging four goals already this term following a summer move from Bowers & Pitsea.

Last season saw Manor score an impressive 22 goals for Bowers, not bad considering they only finished four places clear of the relegation zone.

The 31-year-old will be looking to score for the second time in a week against Aveley, following his injury time winner against the Millers in the FA Cup. Manor had also scored in the original tie against Aveley that was abandoned due to an injury.
