This Saturday sees Concord look to continue their unbeaten start to the season as the Beach Boys travel to Oxford City.

Concord followed up 1-0 victories over Hungerford and Taunton with a 1-1 draw at Dulwich Hamlet in midweek, and these results sees Chris Search’s men sit fifth in the table.

On the other hand, Oxford sit in 17th having played only two games (the Hoops trip to Chippenham on Tuesday night was postponed due to Pablo Martinez’s collapse last Saturday). Following a miserable 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Eastbourne Borough on opening day Ross Jenkins’ men bounced back last weekend with a 1-0 win at St Albans.

Recent meetings between the Beach Boys and the Hoops have gone in favour of the latter, with Concord winning just two of their last eleven meetings with the men from Court Place Farm. However, Concord are unbeaten in their last two visits to Oxford – winning 3-0 and drawing 3-3.

Key Player

Ben Dudzinski

Oxford’s number one, Dudzinski signed a contract extension this summer following an impressive campaign for the Hoops last term.

Ever present, the 26-year-old only missed one game for City last season, keeping 14 clean sheets for the Hoops.

Starting his career at Durham City, Dudzinski went on to play for fellow North East clubs Hartlepool United and Darlington before spells with Lowestoft, Havant and Waterlooville and Sutton United.

Dudzinski joined Oxford in 2020 and has been a fan favourite ever since.

So far this term Dudzinski has kept one clean sheet.

They’ve Played for Both

Jack Davies

Current Concord defender Jack Davies joined the Beach Boys this summer on loan from MK Dons, and has so far appeared in every game this term.

Last season saw the 19-year-old spend half the campaign on loan with Oxford City, appearing in the 3-3 draw between the two sides last August.
